In order to assist Member States in assessing the contribution and commitment of candidates to the promotion and protection of human rights, this document contains brief summaries of Amnesty International’s recent research findings into the human rights situation in candidate countries. The document also outlines key features of candidate countries’ cooperation with the treaty monitoring bodies and the Special Procedures.
