These questions and answers provided an update on Amnesty International’s research into the attacks on southern Israel on 7 October 2023 by Hamas and other Palestinian armed groups and their subsequent treatment of hostages. They do not cover the organization’s extensive concerns about Israel’s actions in the wake of the attacks, including its ongoing offensive on the occupied Gaza Strip.
