Despite findings and recommendations issued in Amnesty International’s 2020 report “Lawfare: Repression by Law ahead of Tanzania’s General Elections” highlighting the worrying human rights situation in the lead up to the 2020 polls and calling on the Tanzanian authorities to respect and uphold human rights throughout the vote and after , the situation as the country heads to this year’s election has deteriorated further
