Pakistan: A burning emergency: Extreme heat and the right to health in Pakistan

Climate injustice is starkly visible in Pakistan, with its population facing severe consequences despite the country’s disproportionately small contribution to global climate change. Increased exposure to heat, and more heatwaves, have been identified as one of the key impacts of climate change in Pakistan, with people experiencing extreme heat and seeing some of the highest temperatures in the world in recent years. Based on secondary literature and interviews with people from marginalized groups in Jacobabad and Lahore, this report examines the impact of extreme heat on the right to health.
