Categories: Israel and Occupied Palestinian Territories
In this submission, Amnesty International comments on Israel’s implementation of the Convention against Torture, conscientious objectors and discrimination against minorities. The organization is also concerned that Israel has rejected the International Court of Justice’s opinion on the wall, withdrawn its co-operation with the Human Rights Council and denies the applicability of international human rights law in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Other concerns expressed include excessive use of force against Palestinian demonstrators, detention without charge or trial, forced evictions of Palestinians and arbitrary restrictions on their right to freedom of movement.
