On 12 February 2025, Moroccan authorities released Uyghur activist Idris Hasan, also known as Yidiresi Aishan, after 43 months of detention. Idris Hasan was arrested in July 2021 at Casablanca’s airport based on an Interpol red notice issued at China’s request, accusing him of terrorism due to his work with Uyghur organizations. Although Interpol cancelled the notice in August 2021, a Moroccan court approved his extradition to China in December 2021. Idris Hasan resettled in the United States, arriving on 14 February 2025.
