Index Number: EUR 23/7375/2017

In this submission, prepared for the Universal Periodic Review of Germany in May 2018, Amnesty International expresses concern about national legislation on privacy and on counter-terrorism breaching human rights standards, and the risk of refoulement of rejected asylum-seekers. Amnesty International also raises concerns about racial discrimination and hate crime, lack of investigation into allegations of torture and ill-treatment by the police, and violations of the rights of children with variations of sex characteristics.
