This report highlights Amnesty International’s concerns about ongoing allegations of German police ill-treatment and use of excessive force against detainees usually in the course of arrest or in police custody. It examines other reports of ill-treatment of and excessive use of force against foreign nationals subjected to a removal order from Germany. The report also highlights several instances, during which unarmed individuals were controversially shot dead by the police. This report concludes with recommendations to address the apparent shortcomings and to bring perpetrators to justice.
