Peru: Amicus curiae brief submitted by Amnesty International to the Criminal Court in Peru on forced sterilisations committed by the Peruvian State during the 1990s [Spanish]

On 2 July 2024, Amnesty International Peru submitted an amicus brief to a Criminal Court in Peru arguing why forced sterilisations committed by the Peruvian State during the 1990s are crimes against humanity and should therefore be imprescriptible. The submission sets out the international obligations of Peru in relation to the imprescriptibility of the most serious crimes under international law as well as argues that forced sterilisation should be considered a grave human rights violation and a crime against humanity.
