This submission was prepared for the examination of Austria’s state party’s report, and of the adoption of the Concluding Observation for Austria by the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights during its 80th session, on 2 November to 13 November 2026. In it, Amnesty International raises concerns regarding the general implementation of the
Convention in national law, migrant live-in care workers, poverty, housing, access to abortion care as well as the hijab ban in schools.
