The Organisation of American States (OAS), at its 51st Ordinary Session of the General Assembly, has decided to discuss elements for a “renewed America”. This title seeks to bring together the main concerns of the Americas in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. If the General Assembly wants to see a genuinely renewed continent, it must seek comprehensive solutions to the region’s historical and structural problems. American multilateralism must focus its efforts on finding solutions to its problems that stem from the guarantee and respect for human rights.
