Swaziland: Amnesty International Submission to the UN Universal Periodic Review, May 2016

This submission was prepared for the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of Swaziland in May 2016. In it, Amnesty International draws attention to shortcomings in the human rights framework in Swaziland, including as regards the crisis in the rule of law, which affects access to justice for victims of human rights violations and the independency of the judiciary, the restriction on fundamental freedoms imposed by provisions in the Constitution and the use by the authorities of laws that violate the principle of legality, and discrimination against women.
