Kosovo (Serbia): Justice for Daka Asani [Case card on enforced disappearances and abductions]
In August 1999 Daka Asani was taken away in a car by an unidentified man. His family unsuccessfully sought help in finding him. In 2006 his family, by now living in Germany, were informed that his body had been identified. The European Union-led Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) has taken over responsibility from UNMIK for the investigation and prosecution of war crimes. This case card urges EULEX to open an investigation into the abduction and killing of Daka Asini.
