During the 47th session of the UN Human Rights Council (HRC), which took place from 21 June to 15 July, 2021, Amnesty International joined almost 500 other civil society and Indigenous Peoples organizations to call on the UN member States through the HRC to establish a new UN Special Rapporteur on human rights and climate change.
