This update was prepared in support of Amnesty International’s previous submission for the fifth cycle of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of the United States of America in October – November 2025. Amnesty International updates the UPR Working Group with respect to the current human rights situation, specifically with developments that occurred in 2025 and 2026 on the right to protest, refugee and migrant rights and international treaties and mechanisms. It ends with a set of recommendations to the United States of America which, if implemented, would contribute to improving the human rights situation with respect to these three issues.
