This document presents facts and figures about illegal US detentions. On 11 January 2009 it will be seven years since the first detainees were transferred to Guantánamo and approximately 250 were still held in December 2008. Elsewhere dozens have been held in secret and hundreds of people remain detained without charge at the US air base in Bagram, Afghanistan.
