North Korea: Public statement on the occasion of the Interactive Dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea – HRC61

Amnesty International welcomes the Rapportuer’s focus on ongoing violations in DPRK, and reflections on how to address them.  Amnesty International’s recent findings from 25 in-depth interviews with North Korean escapees echo much of the report content, and raise in particular concerns about to freedom of expression, including access to information in the DPRK, and the use of the death penalty.
