In this letter Amnesty International recommends that several issues be included in an overview of the human rights situation in Sri Lanka. These include political killings, enforced disappearances, the lack of protection for civilians, unlawful killings and impunity. The organization is also concerned about reports of the increasingly arbitrary nature of detentions and the potential exposure of detainees to risks of torture or other ill-treatment.
