AI is appealing once again to the Rwandese Government and leaders of armed opposition groups to take immediate measures to prevent further killings of unarmed civilians and other grave human rights abuses. Since October 1997, AI has received daily reports of killings of unarmed civilians, in particular extrajudicial executions by soldiers of the Rwandese Patriotic Army and deliberate and arbitrary killings by armed opposition groups.
