The Pegasus Project – a consortium of journalists coordinated by Forbidden Stories with the technical support of Amnesty International’s Security Lab – revealed how NSO Group’s Pegasus spyware has been used to hack the devices of activists, journalists, and opposition figures, including in the EU. In this joint open letter, 81 civil society organizations including Amnesty International and 5 independent experts call on the European Union to take serious and effective measures against NSO Group, including the designation of the entity under the EU’s global human rights sanctions regime.
