James Red Dog, an American Indian aged 39, is scheduled to be executed by the state of Delaware on 3 March 1993. He was sentenced to death in April 1992 for murdering a white man. He has chosen to give up his legal appeals and has consented to his execution. He was sentenced to death despite information relating to his personality disorder and his deprived background being considered as a mitigating factor. He waived his right to jury trial and was sentenced by a judge.
