Today there are 127 men still held at Guantánamo, the majority without charge or trial. Almost half of them have been approved for transfer out of the base, most since January 2010 or earlier. At the root of this injustice is the failure of the US government to address the detentions as a human rights issue. As we approach 11 January 2015, day 4,749 in the life of this notorious prison camp, the USA is still failing to address the detentions within a human rights framework.
