This submission was prepared for the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of Saudi Arabia in January-February 2024. In it, Amnesty International evaluates the implementation of recommendations made to Saudi Arabia in its previous review, including in relation to freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly, the death penalty and women’s rights. It also assesses the national human rights framework with regards to new laws and regulations in relation to women’s rights, labour rights, and children’s rights.
