Pakistan: "A bullet has been chosen for you": Attacks on journalists in Pakistan
Pakistan has a reputation for having a fearless and vibrant media, but it is one of the most dangerous countries in the world for journalists. Human rights abuses against journalists take many forms but share the common purpose of seeking to influence their reporting or silence them. This has had a chilling effect on freedom of expression across Pakistan. This report documents threats, harassment, abduction, torture and killing of journalists by a range of state and non-state actors. The authorities rarely investigate such abuses.
