Chuck Lee Mathenia, who is white, is scheduled to be executed by the state of Missouri, on 4 June 1993. Mathenia has a well documented history of mental health problems, and was represented at his trial by an attorney who spent little time in the preparation of his case, and who failed to present any mitigating evidence relating to his medical history.
