Children's human rights: The theory / the reality
This leaflet gives information on the theory of child human rights protection, as formulated in the Convention on the Rights of the Child. It also gives information on the reality of children's human rights: children all over the world face unlawful arrest and detention, torture and political killings. Six individual cases are included: China - Sherab Ngawang, aged 12; USA: Gary Davies Hart, 16; Burundi: Sylvie Ntungiyabani and family; Argentina: Valeria Belaustegui Herrara, "disappeared" while pregnant; Romania: Virgiliu Ilies, 15; Iraq: Fariq Tawfiq 'Ali.
