In this document Amnesty International explains that the Egyptian government committed itself to protect the right to adequate housing and the right to privacy. It is therefore obliged not to forcibly evict anyone from their homes. The document goes on to consider eviction and evacuation; guarantees before and during eviction; and, criteria for alternative housing. The organization urges individuals to be aware of their rights and to stand up against forced evictions.
