Democratic Republic of Congo: the Human Rights Council should urge the government to promote a peaceful electoral process

In this statement to the 30th regular session of the UN Human Rights Council, Amnesty International expresses concerns about the persistent impunity for crimes under international law, the violations of due process for those arrested in connection with armed conflicts, and attacks on freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly in the lead up to upcoming elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
