Nigeria: Fear of torture/incommunicado detention

Police have arrested three of the staff of Insider Weekly magazine, which has published stories critical of the government. Officers from the State Security Service (SSS) raided the magazine’s offices on 4 and 5 September, arresting the production manager, distribution officer and a security guard. All are detained incommunicado, without charge, at an unknown location, and are at grave risk of torture. The editor-in-chief, and other journalists from the magazine, have gone into hiding to escape being arrested.
