In this communication, Amnesty International assesses the implementation of the recommendations by Mali. It also analyses the national framework of human rights, in particular the passing of amnesty laws which contribute to impunity and other laws that are inconsistent and incompatible with Mali’s international human rights obligations. Amnesty International also expresses its concerns about violations of the right to justice and truth, right to a fair trial, rights to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, crimes against civilians in the context of non-international armed conflict and impunity, violations of women’s rights, discrimination based on ancestry and work, and the death penalty.
