UN Economic and Social Council: Commission on the Status of Women: Fifty-third session, 2-13 March 2009: Item 3 (a) (i) of the provisional agenda [joint statement 1]
In this statement the NGO Working Group of Women, Peace and Security welcomes the decision of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women to review progress towards “Equal participation of women and men in decision-making processes at all levels.” The Group now advocate for full and effective implementation of Security Council resolutions 1325 (2000) and 1820 (2008) on Women, Peace and Security. The statement is being circulated in accordance with paragraphs 36 and 37 of Economic and Social Council resolution 1996/31.
