There is concern that the execution of Curtis Harris will go ahead as scheduled on 1 July 1993, following the US Supreme Court ruling in the case of Dorsie Lee Johnson on 24 June 1993, rejecting his appeal that the pre- 1991 Texas capital statute was unconstitutional in not allowing consideration of a defendant’s youth as a mitigating circumstance in sentencing.
