Russian Federation: Zelimkhan Murdalov has not been seen since January 2001 (Postcard)

This postcard, (not printed in English) addressed to President Vladimir Putin, highlights the case of Zelimkhan Murdalov, a 26-year-old student, has not been seen since by his family since 2 January 2001. He was apparently tortured in detention and then taken away by police. He is one of thousands of people who have become victims of enforced disappearances in Chechnya. The postcard urges the President to make public the official list of missing people; to investigate effectively all enforced disappearances; to establish an autopsy service in Chechnya; and to protect witnesses and relatives from intimidation.
