Russian Federation: Prisoner of conscience / fear of further POCs: Oleg Pazyura

Oleg Pazyura, a retired naval officer and respected human rights defender, was arrested without a warrant by five armed law enforcement officers on 26 May 1997 in Murmansk. He has been charged under two articles of the Russian Criminal Code and faces three years’ imprisonment. Amnesty Internatioanl believes the charges are unfounded and is calling for his release as a prisoner of conscience.
