Free Daria Egereva

Indigenous rights defender Daria Egereva could face up to 20 years in prison for her peaceful human rights work. Sign the petition calling on the Russian authorities to immediately release Daria.

What’s the problem?

Daria Egereva has spent her life protecting her people,  culture and the environment. Born in Siberia, she is a proud member of the Selkup Indigenous people, a population of around only 3,500 people. Daria became a respected advocate for Indigenous rights and climate justice, working to protect Indigenous lands, languages and cultures.

Friends describe her as warm, sociable and deeply compassionate. She loves reading and walking outdoors. She often speaks fondly of growing up surrounded by forests, where she gathered berries with her family.

Now, Daria could face up to 20 years in prison because of her human rights work.

In December 2025, Russian authorities detained her and accused her of involvement with an Indigenous rights network they had arbitrarily labelled “terrorist”, even though Daria’s work focused on peacefully defending her people and their rights.

By signing this petition you can show the authorities that people around the world are watching Daria’s case. International pressure can help protect her and strengthen calls for her freedom.

It takes just 30 seconds to act.

What can you do to help?

Sign the petition demanding Daria’s immediate and unconditional release.
