Thailand: End Impunity and Ensure Justice for Community under Attack
On the first anniversary of the death of land rights activist Chai Bunthonglek, FORUM-ASIA, Amnesty International, FIDH and OMCT within the framework of the Observatory for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders and Protection International (PI) renew calls on the Royal Thai government to ensure justice for the crimes against Chai Bunthonglek and other members of the Southern Peasants Federation of Thailand (SPFT) - a community-based land rights organization. The joint statement calls on the authorities to protect all human rights defenders at risk of intimidations, forced evictions, killings and other attacks throughout the country.
