Nigeria: Open letter to His Excellency Rotimi Amaechi, Governor of Rivers State, regarding forced evictions
In this open letter, Amnesty International calls on the Nigerian government to cease all forced evictions of residents of the several waterfront areas in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. The organization urges the Governor of Rivers State to use his authority and influence to ensure the promulgation of laws and policies and the implementation of practices that guarantee the progressive realisation of the right to adequate housing for residents of the waterfronts and other deprived areas in Port Harcourt.
