Despite some positive developments since May 2010 when Kenya presented its first National Report for the Universal Periodic Review, Amnesty International remains concerned that the situation of human rights in Kenya has not substantively improved. The security forces have continued to engage in serious human rights violations, especially in the context of counter-terrorism operations. Most victims of the post-election violence have neither received justice nor reparation six years after they suffered violations. Forced evictions from slums continue to be carried out in contravention of the Constitution and relevant international human rights standards.
