Nigeria: Promoting and protecting human rights: A ten point national agenda

On the eve of Nigeria’s election to the United Nations (UN) Security Council as a non-permanent member, Amnesty International calls on the Nigerian government to strengthen their national human rights record. In this document Amnesty International urges the implementation of ten points concerning, for example, extrajudicial executions, enforced disappearances and torture ; a moratorium on executions; access to justice; forced evictions; freedom of expression, and ending discrimination on the basis of gender identity or sexual orientation.
