This survey of more than 21,000 people in 21 countries across every continent reveals that nearly half of respondents fear torture if taken into custody. The findings detailed in this document also show, for example, that the vast majority of respondents believe there should be clear laws against torture. The survey was conducted for Amnesty International by the global research consultancy GlobeScan and its research partners in each country.
