Recommendations for a convention on mutual legal assistance
Amnesty International welcomes the initiative by some states to draft a Convention on International Cooperation in the Investigation and Prosecution of the Crime of Genocide, Crimes against Humanity and War Crimes. Such a Draft Convention has, by enhancing international cooperation in criminal matters, an enormous potential in the international criminal law field, and may become - for those states willing to fight against impunity for crimes under international law, an effective tool in conducting investigations and prosecutions in fair trials.
