Greece: Uphold the rights of women and girls trafficked for sexual exploitation
This report highlights the failure of the Greek authorities to identify and protect the rights of individuals trafficked for forced prostitution. It points to the gaps in Greek law that need to be filled to bring them in line with international human rights standards. Amnesty International is calling on the Greek government to encourage women and girls to report crimes of trafficking. It is urging the authorities not to make protection of their rights dependent on willingness to cooperate in operations against those responsible for trafficking. It is calling for assistance and protection laws and practices to be strengthened.
