This submission has been prepared for the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of Eswatini during the 53rd session of the UPR Working Group. In the submission, Amnesty International evaluates the implementation of recommendations made to Eswatini in its previous review, including in relation to reform of laws and practices that restrict the rights to freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly, as well as safeguards for fair trial rights and protection from torture and other ill-treatment.
