Jordan: Executions on the increase

AI is concerned about the rising number of executions in Jordan since 1993. Twelve people were executed in 1993, the highest annual total in over 20 years. This report discusses legislation and procedures relating to the death penalty and comments on recent executions and cases of people on death row, including two men, ‘Uthman Sa’id Dhaher Subh and Muhammad Fadl Abu Zinah, sentenced to death separately in 1976.
