Thailand: Time to end human rights violations: Amnesty International Submission to the UN Universal Periodic Review, October 2011

In this submission, prepared for the Universal Periodic Review of Thailand in October 2011, Amnesty International raises concerns about national security legislation and legislation restricting freedom of expression. Amidst Thailand’s ongoing political crisis, protesters, passers-by, journalists and members of the security forces have been killed. The government continues to forcibly return refugees and asylum seekers in contravention of customary international law, and migrant workers continue to experience human rights abuses.
