Amnesty International believes that the sentences imposed on the 10 individuals
named above have been upheld by the Supreme Court in Malaysia and that they
may be executed at any time. While no official date has been set, the prisoners
constantly fear execution.
FURTHER RECOMMENDED ACTION: Please send telegrams/telexes/faxes and airmail
letters either in English or in your own language:
- expressing concern that the death sentences imposed have been upheld by the
Supreme Court;
- expressing grave concern that the prisoners may have been disadvantaged by
language difficulties during their trials;
- stating Amnesty International's unconditional opposition to the death
- urging that all death sentences be commuted and that no further death sentences
be imposed.
