Singapore: Oral Statement on UPR adoption of Singapore at HRC48

This oral statement to the 48th session of the Human Rights Council reflects on the outcome of Singapore’s 3rd Universal Periodic Review. It expresses concern at the low number of recommendations accepted on key human rights issues, particularly in relation to the death penalty, freedom of expression, association and assembly, and rejection of recommendations to ratify remaining core human rights treaties and establish an independent national human rights institution.
