Myanmar: Stalled reforms: impunity, discrimination and ongoing human rights abuses: Amnesty International Submission to the UN Universal Periodic Review, November 2015

In this submission Amnesty International highlights serious concerns with regard to the legal framework; restrictions on the rights to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly; human rights violations by the security forces; illegality and human rights abuses related to corporate projects; discrimination in law, policy and practice; the situation of the Rohingya minority; conflict in ethnic minority areas; and the continued imposition of the death penalty. Moreover, a culture of impunity persists for human rights violations and abuses, both past and present.
