Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Kosovo province): Rifat Syleman Morina
Rifat Syleman Morina, an agricultural engineer in his mid-50s, is an ethnic Albanian from the town of Prizren in Kosovo province. In June 1995 he wrote a statement for a local human rights organization in which he complained that since mid-February 1995 he had been summoned to a local police station on some 15 occasions. On almost all these occasions he had been beaten by police officers, once with another man, Zejnullah Kabashi. Amnesty International is calling for a full and impartial investigation of his case and for those responsible to be brought to justice.
