Abdulgani Dag has “disappeared” after being detained by the security forces near the village of Istilil in Mardin province on or around 11 July 1994. He was detained along with three other villagers after an identity check of passengers travelling in a minibus. He has now been held beyond the maximum period permitted for incommunicad detention under emergency legislation. His family have been unable to discover his whereabouts and there are grave fears for his life.
